Empathy in ux design

In this video learning, author Cory Lebson talks about the importance of empathy in interaction and UX design in four parts, namely:

  • Empathy and UX
  • Building Personal Empathy
  • Empathy in UX Research
  • Designing and Delivering Empathy

Starting with the definition of empathy, it explores how to use empathy to conduct research to help UX professionals, designers and researchers understand the needs and goals of customers. He also explains by example how to develop empathy skills and discusses how to cultivate empathy and allow stakeholders to tell stories with empathy throughout the project lifecycle. Also, Cory explains why empathy is critical to effective user research and design in interaction design and UX, how to manage difficult emotions while maintaining empathy, and how to be an advocate for empathy. Empathy is also an important factor in professional success in the company or at work. In the design research, we should always understand the needs of users, understand the pain points and feelings of users.

  • Conclusion

As an interaction designer, I hope to realize the value of emotion, story telling and empathic design in my future designs, whether for family members, friends or work. Do research that conveys empathy to others. Hone your empathy skills in practice to deliver great UX work and create meaningful products for users.
