the feeling after pechakucha···

On Monday, a presentation on project 04 was made by Pechakucha. For project 04, the theme I chose was Conscious Consumption. In view of this topic, I have collected relevant materials and conducted a brief interview and survey of people around me, and have learned about the main consumption categories of people at present, such as ready-to-eat products, clothing, medicine, entertainment and daily necessities. Through my interviews with consumers, I know that they have a consumer psychology when buying commodities. Most people have a herd mentality when buying commodities, believing that their friends have bought them, so they should also buy them, even though they do not need them. At the same time, the starting point of people’s consumption is more from the interest, but the awareness of environmental protection is low. On the other hand, based on my observation, it is important for merchants to guide the consumer psychology of the public, but there is still a lack of measures for sustainable consumption. I have done some research on this big topic, which is what I think I have done well.

Since I was the last one to give a presentation, I also watched other students give a PechaKucha. Many students have a clear design direction when they are working on a project. For example, food waste will be used as a design point to solve the problem, and drugs will be bought too much and expired after use. Although I have done a lot of research, I have not found a clear design direction and design point. After my report, the teachers also gave me some feedback: they thought that I should figure out what to do so as to carry out research, instead of looking for what to design through research. This is also where I think I am deficient.

In the report, because it was the first time for me to do this, I was not experienced enough, I was a little nervous in the expression and I failed to fully demonstrate what I wanted to express. I hope I can prepare well in advance and practice more times in each project report. At the same time, I hope I can enjoy each report and have fun.
